There were A LOT of people on horses. We decided more than there really needed to be because all the younger ones were just standing around on their horses watching while the older ones were doing all the work!
It was fun to watch.
It seemed like it took forever to get up to Rob Roy but we had a fun time -
Ate lunch, let the kids play in the water and I found a whole bunch of rocks.
I forgot to take pictures of my stack of rocks but they sure look nice in my flower beds. I'll take some pictures of them there!
The beetles have destroyed a lot of the trees up in that area. The trees across the lake from where we had a picnic lunch were mostly dead. You can see that there was still snow up there too.
This tree was just below where we ate lunch
This was a tree that was blown over and the part sticking up just came up out of the middle of the tree. It was kind of unique, I thought.
This is what the beetles do to the trees

Jodi was trying to teach the kids how to skip rocks.
Here's Paige trying to do it.
Up a ways from the log we sat on to eat lunch I found this cross.
I couldn't read the name that was written down the center but the death year was 2002 on the right side of the cross. The birth year was on the left but I can't remember what it was. I just thought it odd to had a grave way up there in the middle of no where. Probably a logging accident was my thought.
